Local favorite, Sarah Jaffe returns to the Bomb Factory! She previously opened for Erykah Badu during our opening weekend & now she’s back to help Metric open their show. Born in 1986 in Texas, Jaffe burst onto Denton’s indie scene in a big way during the late 2000s, making memorable live appearances at venues like the Austin City Limits festival and winning recognition in several categories at the Dallas Observer Music Awards. Raves for her initial EP, 2008’s Even Born Again, in the American and U.K. press, as well as an international tour supporting the band Midlake, raised the singer’s profile even further, and she signed a deal with Kirtland Records late in 2009, who released the full-length Suburban Nature as her official debut in 2010. The home-recorded The Way Sound Leaves a Room EP arrived in 2011, followed by the evocative full-length The Body Wins in 2012 and the electro-pop-minded Don’t Disconnect in 2014.

Hibou has also been added as another supporting act for Metric. Peter Michel is a 21 year old Seattleite who creates music under the alias Hibou (eeeee-booo). Michel toured North America and Europe as the drummer of Captured Tracks’ band Craft Spells. After a year of non-stop touring, he felt his life with the band had run its course, and that it was time to begin creating his own music. In January of 2013, he released 2 songs and soon after, received positive press recognition. In June of 2013, Dunes EP was released, which was featured by NME, Pitchfork, Line of Best Fit, Noisey, and more. Hibou released their debut EP on September 18, 2015.
