EarPhunk Homage to Daft Phunk on National Star Wars Day

New Orleans bred and electronically fed, EarPhunk is a 5-piece band with a fast growing fan base. With several studio albums including “Sweet Nasty,” Earphunk has made quite a name for themselves. On May 4th they pay homage to Daft Phunk, one of the greatest acts in electronic music. They add their own flavor to the organic sound of Daft Phunk and use live instrumentation while performing. In the spirit of getting things done right, Earphunk has only performed this tribute a small amount of times. The band wanted to insure that they served justice while playing as a cover band and they only perform the tribute on special occasions. Initially put together as an outlet for fun, Mark Hempe (vocals/guitar), Provosty, Michael Comeaux (Bass), Michael Matthews (drums), and Christian Galle (keyboards/organ) continues to gather a loyal group of listeners as they tour. “To do this right, you have to keep visiting every market every three or four months, and we’re committed to that. When the shows are selling out, we know our music is resonating. It’s just a matter of continuing to give this thing the room it needs to grow” explains Provosty. With plans to take their act national, Earphunk continues to tour.
